This Monster project was a real challenge from a production sound point of view. It combined an interview with a motocross athlete, ambient sound recording, and a full range of motorcycle effects, all of which had to be captured with precision and flexibility on set.
Recording motorcycles is always demanding, especially when trying to balance onboard sounds with passing-by takes. Each pass has its own character, and getting the right distance, angle, and level is key to capturing the power and texture of the bike without losing detail or control. On top of that, the interview section required clean and consistent dialogue, which meant the workflow had to stay organized and efficient throughout the shoot.
My role focused on production sound and location sound recording, making sure the audio supported both the documentary side of the piece and the more energetic, cinematic motorcycle action. The combination of interview, atmospheres, and moto effects gave the edit a strong sonic foundation and helped shape the final tone of the video.
