Working on this Monster Energy shoot with motocross rider Maxime Renaux was all about capturing the energy, speed, and raw character of the motorcycle. My main focus was recording moto sounds in a variety of situations, especially onboard takes and passing by recordings, to get the most dynamic and usable material for the final edit.

Recording motorcycles on a shoot like this requires precision, timing, and a good understanding of how the bike behaves in motion. Onboard sound gives a very direct and immersive perspective, while passing by recordings add power, speed, and a sense of scale to the action. Together, they help build a more complete and cinematic sound design for the piece.

As a sound recordist, I had to stay flexible throughout the shoot and adapt to different riding conditions, distances, and camera setups. In this kind of production, clean location sound and well-captured moto effects are essential to support the rhythm and impact of the final video.

With decades of experience in action sports and countless outdoor shootings, we are more than eager to explore the most remote corners of the world for your production.
